12 dead as helicopter with munitions crashes in Afghanistan

At least 12 people were killed when a helicopter carrying munitions crashed in Afghanistan’s Balkh province on Sunday, Afghan officials said. The helicopter was carrying 14 people, including 11 members of the Afghan security forces who were being transported from a military base. The helicopter exploded on impact and bodies were burnt beyond “beyond recognition”, reports said.
