AFRICA’S COVID-19 INFECTIONS REACH 8.46 MLN: AFRICA CDC

According to the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), the number of confirmed COVID-19 infections in Africa had reached 8,464,280 as of Sunday afternoon.

The African Union’s (AU) specialized healthcare organization, the Africa CDC, said that 216,830 people have died as a result of the pandemic across the continent.

So far, 7,846,934 individuals have recovered from the condition across the continent.

According to the agency, the countries with the most instances on the continent include South Africa, Morocco, Tunisia, and Ethiopia.

South Africa has recorded the most COVID-19 cases in Africa with 2,919,332 cases, while the northern African country, Morocco, reported 944,076 cases as of Sunday afternoon.

Southern Africa is the most afflicted region in terms of caseload, followed by the northern and eastern regions of the continent, while central Africa is the least affected region, according to the Africa CDC.
