‘HALAL CONFERENCE & EXPO’ TO BE HELD IN QATAR NEXT YEAR

Qatar Chamber (QC) will host the “Halal Conference and Expo 2020” in Doha, which aims to showcase Halal products and mechanisms of certifying these products as well as promoting the Halal trade worldwide.

This was revealed during the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (ICCIA) board meeting in Karachi, Pakistan on Saturday, QC said in a statement on Sunday.

The meeting was presided by QC Chairman and First Vice Chairman of ICCIA Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim al Thani and was attended by chambers’ presidents and heads of chambers’ unions of the ICCIA members.

QC board member Mohamed Jawhar al Mohamed was also present at the meeting.

Qatar will also host the ICCIA general assembly and board of directors’ upcoming meetings on the sidelines of the expo in November 2020.

Qatar has urged all the chamber members to participate in the event in Doha next year.

The ICCIA meeting’s agenda included electing a new bureau, the report of the general secretariat from March 2019 to November 2019, the general secretariat media activities and financial contributions from the beginning of the current year to October 31.

It also included the adoption of chamber’s objectives for the 2020-24 period, the adoption of the document enabling the sustainability of chambers and the mandate of the general secretariat to draw up the action plan.

The agenda also included the adoption of strategy of the chamber’s forums and a proposal to update the chamber’s working regulations.

The meeting was attended Adviser of the Government of Pakistan for Trade, Industry, Investment and Textile Abdul Razzaq Daoud as a guest of honour, President of the Federation of Pakistani Chambers Hajji Daru Khan Ashakzai and General Consul of the State of Qatar to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan HE Mish’al Mohammad al Ansari.
