Russia added 29,929 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the overall number of cases to 10,016,896, according to the official monitoring and response center.
The death toll in the country climbed by 1,132 to 289,483, while the number of people who were recovered increased by 31,391 to 8,741,355.
Meanwhile, Moscow, Russia’s most severely affected region, reported 2,862 additional cases, bringing the total number of infections to 1,984,378. With 2,012 new cases, the Russian capital was followed by Saint Petersburg.
As of Friday, more than 74 million Russian individuals had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, with over 67 million having been fully vaccinated.
According to data released on Friday, the country’s herd immunity rate was 55.7 percent.
