Sun 24 April 2022:

Since the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, at least 14 million worshippers have attended prayers at the Mosque in Medina, according to the official Saudi Press Agency  (SPA) report on Saturday.

The organizing committee said they worked with “auxiliary agencies” as well as in-house workers to improve the mosque’s operational capacity during the high-influx month.

According to SPA, Abdulaziz al-Ayoubi, the Adviser and Under-General for Executive and Field Affairs, claimed that his team worked 24 hours a day and “doubled efforts” to accommodate the millions of people who rushed to the place of worship.

Meanwhile, the Kingdom’s minister of health stated that no “epidemic breakouts, diseases, or events compromising public health” had occurred as a result of the guest surge, according to SPA.

Minister Fahd al-Jalajil also stated that the authority “continues to provide preventive, curative, and ambulatory services” through hospitals and primary health care centers for Umrah pilgrims.

According to SPA, he stated that preventive measures, epidemiological examination procedures, and a swift infectious response have all been planned.

Al-Jalajil stated that the Ministry had recruited more than 18,000 personnel to assist visitors throughout the holy month in order to achieve the size of this operation.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), more than 7,200 Umrah guests were treated in emergency rooms and hospitals as of April 22, with 36 emergency surgeries, 291 dialysis, and 20 catheters performed.
