ROYAL FAMILY GATHERS AT BALMORAL AMID CONCERNS FOR QUEEN’S HEALTH

Queen Elizabeth II is under medical supervision at Balmoral, Scotland, after doctors became concerned for her health, Buckingham Palace said on Thursday.

“Following further evaluation this morning, The Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement.

“The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral,” it added.

Prince Charles, his wife Camilla and Prince William are travelling to Balmoral, Clarence House and Kensington Palace said.

The 96-year-old monarch postponed her Privy Council meeting last night after being advised by doctors to rest.

On Tuesday, the Queen appointed Liz Truss as Britain’s new prime minister at Balmoral, for the first time in her 70-year reign, after accepting the resignation of outgoing Prime Minister Boris Johnson. 

The Duke of Cambridge, the Duke of York and the Earl and Countess of Wessex have arrive at Balmoral.

The Queen was seen in public for the first time in several weeks when she received the outgoing and incoming prime ministers this week. She looked bright, but frail and used a walking stick during Tuesday’s audiences with Liz Truss, which followed a visit from Boris Johnson as he tendered his resignation.

The following day it was announced that the Queen had cancelled the planned virtual privy council meeting. Buckingham Palace said at the time: “After a full day yesterday, Her Majesty has this afternoon accepted doctors’ advice to rest. This means that the privy council meeting that had been due to take place this evening will be rearranged.”

The former Good Morning Britain host has said that he “can’t imagine Britain” without Her Majesty in a message, which comes after it was revealed that the Queen is receiving medical supervision as her family flock to her.

The Duke of York is also travelling to Balmoral, his spokesman has confirmed.

Prince Harry and Meghan will be Royal family arrive at  travelling to Balmoral, their spokesman have confirmed.

 Security guards took position. There is a sombre atmosphere out side Balmoral Castle. Some cars have been seen driving in through its gates in the last hour.

Phil Dampier, royal author and journalist, says it is clearly a “very serious situation” at Balmoral.

Only recently, he notes on BBC News, she was walking around the estate and has been horseriding.

If she passes away, the Queen will be an “impossible act to follow”, he warns.

Liz Truss said “the whole country will be deeply concerned by the news from Buckingham Palace this lunchtime”.

The new prime minister, who visited the Queen at Balmoral on Tuesday, added: “My thoughts – and the thoughts of people across our United Kingdom – are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time”.
