SENIOR IRANIAN NUCLEAR SCIENTIST MOHSEN FAKHRIZADEH ASSASSINATED NEAR TEHRAN

An Iranian nuclear scientist was assassinated east of the capital Tehran on Friday, the semi-official Tasnim news agency reported.

Tasnim as well as other Iranian outlets named the scientist as Mohsen Fakhrizadeh. He was reportedly killed in the city of Absard, 43 miles east of the Iranian capital.

“Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, a scientist in the country’s nuclear field, was assassinated by terrorists near Tehran,” Tasnim, close to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, reported.

 

According to the available reports, the scientist was killed in an attack to the east of Tehran in what is described as a suicide attack, with a blast and gunshots heard in the area.

The news was also reported by Fars, a semi-official news agency also close to the Guards.
