88,000 Iranian Pilgrims Arrive in Saudi Arabia for Hajj

Some 88,000 Iranians have arrived in Saudi Arabia to perform this year’s Hajj pilgrimage, revealed Nasser Jaber Hweizawi, head of the office of Iranian pilgrims affairs. Upon their arrival, they witnessed the high levels of services provided by Saudi authorities at the Madinah and Jeddah airports, he added after holding talks with Governor of Madinah, Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz.

The Iranian pilgrims are receiving excellent services in Madinah in coordination with the authorities at the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, he continued. He remarked that the rapid development in Madinah will positively impact the near future and help increase the capacity to receive more Hajj and Umrah pilgrims in the coming years.

Separately, head of the Iraqi Hajj and Umrah authority, Khaled al-Atieh revealed that Iraqi authorities have started to coordinate with their Saudi counterparts to complete the arrangements for the arrival of Iraqi pilgrims to the Kingdom.
 Some 50,000 Iraqis are expected this year.

The Saudi Press Agency stated Friday that so far, more than 859,000 pilgrims have arrived in the Kingdom to perform the Hajj. They include 113,000 who arrived as part of the Makkah Route initiative.
