ANDREW TATE’S RESIDENCE RAIDED AMID HUMAN TRAFFICKING PROBE

Romanian law enforcement raided the home of internet personality Andrew Tate near Bucharest on Wednesday, as part of an ongoing investigation into serious crimes, including human trafficking and sexual exploitation of minors. The raid was witnessed by Reuters and coincided with Romanian police announcing four searches related to the investigation.

Tate, who has garnered millions of followers by promoting a hyper-masculine lifestyle often criticized for its misogynistic undertones, was previously indicted in mid-2023 along with his brother Tristan and two Romanian women. The charges included human trafficking, rape, and forming a criminal gang to exploit women—allegations they have all denied.

Romania’s Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) confirmed that it conducted four home searches in Ilfov County and Bucharest as part of the probe. The investigation focuses on allegations of establishing a criminal organization, trafficking minors, human trafficking, engaging in sexual acts with a minor, influencing witness statements, and money laundering.

Representatives for Tate acknowledged the raid and stated that although the specifics of the allegations remain unclear, suspicions of human trafficking and money laundering were mentioned in the search warrant. They assured that the brothers’ legal team is actively involved to ensure proper legal procedures are followed.

In a related development, a Romanian court of appeal in July overturned a previous ruling that had allowed Tate to move freely within the European Union while awaiting trial on human trafficking charges.
