ANGELINA JOLIE: GAZA IS RAPIDLY TURNING INTO A MASS GRAVE

The Israeli forces recently conducted an airstrike on the Jabalia Refugee Camp in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.

Following the attack, globally renowned actress Angelina Jolie broke her silence.

Renowned for her advocacy on behalf of the United Nations, Jolie emphasized that the civilians were intentionally and consciously targeted by Israeli airstrikes.

“Gaza, which has been turned into a kind of open-air prison for two decades, has tragically become a mass grave. 40 percent of those killed are innocent children. Families are being massacred. While the world is watching what is happening and with the support of many governments, millions of Palestinian civilians (children, women, families) are being punished collectively. They are being dehumanized and denied access to basic necessities such as food, medicine, and humanitarian aid, in clear violation of international law.” Jolie said on a social media post.

“World leaders are complicit in these crimes by refusing to support the call for a humanitarian ceasefire and obstructing the UN Security Council from enforcing a ceasefire for both parties.” Jolie added.

Jolie responded to the Israeli attacks on civilians in Gaza and issued an appeal for assistance.

Expressing her deep distress and anger in response to the “Aqsa Flood” attacks on the morning of October 7, she stated: “What happened in Israel amounts to an act of terrorism. Nevertheless, it cannot justify the tragic loss of innocent lives in Gaza, where civilians had no place to seek refuge, no access to food or water, no means of evacuation, and not even the fundamental human right to cross the border in search of shelter.”

In her article, Jolie stated that she has been engaged in humanitarian work with refugees and displaced individuals for the past 20 years, and she mentioned: “Gaza is home to over 2 million people, with half of them being children, who have endured a harsh blockade for nearly two decades, coupled with decades of displacement and statelessness. The limited aid deliveries that manage to enter are only a fraction of what is required, and the relentless bombings create a constant need for emergency humanitarian assistance. The withholding of fuel and water aid inflicts collective punishment on the population. Humanity calls for an urgent ceasefire.”

”The lives of Palestinians, Israelis, and all people worldwide hold equal value. Every possible effort must be made to prevent harm to civilians and preserve lives.” she emphasized.

”Like many people, I donated to medical relief efforts. I have chosen to support the work of Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) and I follow their reports closely.” the actress further said.
