Fri 03 December 2021:

According to Bloomberg News on Wednesday, Apple has warned its parts suppliers that demand for the iPhone 13 range has decreased, signaling that some customers have decided not to try to purchase the hard-to-find item.

According to the source, Apple had previously limited manufacturing of the iPhone 13 by up to 10 million devices owing to a global processor shortage, but it has recently notified vendors that such orders may not materialize.

The auto sector has been impacted by a global chip shortage, which began as a result of excessive demand for smartphones and personal devices during the coronavirus pandemic and has interrupted production at companies ranging from Apple to GM.

Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, warned in October that supply limitations, which cost the firm $6 billion in sales in the fiscal fourth quarter, would be worse during the holiday quarter, and that processor shortages would affect most of the company’s devices.

Apple also cut back on iPad tablet production last month, according to Nikkei, in order to assign more components to the iPhone 13.
