A police operation in Austria’s Styria province uncovered a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, explosives, and prohibited Nazi memorabilia, authorities reported on Monday.

Acting on a tip-off, law enforcement officials raided the home of a 50-year-old woman and her 17-year-old son in the town of Liezen.

The search revealed over 70 long-barreled firearms, 5,000 rounds of ammunition, and several explosive materials, alongside Nazi symbols that are banned under Austrian law.

When questioned, the woman refused to comment, while her son claimed the weapons and memorabilia belonged to his late father.

Legal proceedings have been launched against the mother and son. In addition, a ban has been imposed, prohibiting them from possessing or using firearms.
