Sun 12 December 2021:

Sajeeb Wazed Joy, the ICT Affairs Adviser to the Bangladeshi Prime Minister, launched 5G, or fifth generation mobile services, on Sunday through Teletalk, a state-run cellular operator, in conjunction with Huawei, a Chinese telecom giant.

Mobile users in some parts of the country will now have access to high-speed 5G Internet via their mobile phones at a lesser cost thanks to the debut of the next generation services.

Teletalk received infrastructure and technical help from Huawei Bangladesh for the deployment of 5G networks.

Kevin Xu, chief technical officer of Huawei Bangladesh, said, “4G has changed life. 5G will change society. And we are happy to be a part of this key initiative towards that journey.”
