Thu 07 April 2022:
According to the Xinhua news agency, Shanghai has transported 12,111 people who were close connections or had come into touch with COVID-19 positive patients to the province of Zhejiang.
According to a Xinhua report, the two neighboring Chinese provinces reached an agreement in the aftermath of the recent spike in cases in Shanghai to move and isolate over 30,000 potentially infected people in the cities of Taizhou, Huzhou, Hangzhou, Jinhua, and Ningbo.
The decision is intended to relieve stress on Shanghai health personnel and to focus on the medical and mental health problems in both provinces’ isolation sites.
The supply system in Shanghai – the financial hub of China – has taken a considerable hit due to the tough restrictions due to the rising COVID-19 cases.According to the new rules, only the health workers, delivery people and individuals with special permission are allowed to move in the city.
Despite the city’s large stockpiles of rice and pork, this has resulted in a major distribution dilemma, according to Shanghai’s vice mayor Chen Tong, who spoke at a news conference on Thursday.
Tong also told Reuters that the city is aiming to restore a number of wholesale markets and food businesses with the help of extra workers to handle deliveries.
“In response to the various problems reported by the public, we have been holding meetings overnight to try and figure out solutions,” he was quoted as saying by the Reuters report.
