Sat 17 September 2022:
YouTube now lets creators respond to fan comments on their videos, with Shorts on iOS devices.
The company said that it heard creators’ request to allow them to feature comments posted on their channels in the content on the short-form video app.
The update is rolling out now and will be available for all Shorts creators on iOS to try out in the coming weeks, with “Android launching down the road”.
The company said it is also exploring ideas like notifying commenters when their comment is highlighted.
YouTube Shorts has reached 30 billion daily views, and is growing exponentially.
The company plans to introduce its Shorts on YouTube TV, its smart TV platform.
Additionally, YouTube TV plans to introduce a new feature called “Mosaic Mode” that will allow users to view up to four live streams at once.
A new “Edit into a Short” tool has been added to the streaming service’s iOS and Android apps, allowing users to convert their longer videos into shorter ones in an effort to improve the user experience.
