Riyadh: A video clip purporting to show Cristiano Ronaldo, a Portuguese football player for the Saudi club Al-Nassr, kneeling (perform sujood/sajdah) like Muslim players on Tuesday after scoring a goal in a Saudi Professional League match, is going viral online.
In the game that pitted the two clubs against one another at Al-Awal Park Stadium on Tuesday night, Cristiano helped Al-Nassr overcome Al-Shabab, winning 3-2.
Ronaldo scored the goal in the 59th minute of the game, that led his team to victory.
Ali Alabdallh, a journalist for the Saudi Al-Bilad newspaper, posted a video clip of Cristiano Ronaldo appearing to prostrate himself on Twitter after scoring a goal.
Ronaldo’s happiness could be seen in the 57-second video clip. He and his colleagues were dancing and laughing merrily amid the deafening acclaim when all of a sudden he knelt down and prostrated himself.
Several Muslim sportspersons across the globe perform the sajdah as an act of thanksgiving to God, which Ronaldo mirrored.

I said this once and i will say it again. As a Muslim you simply cant support Messi over Ronaldo. The Respect and love he has for us Muslims is insane. pic.twitter.com/PW2v8NILhD
