Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is the most popular world leader for Arab youths, according to the results of a recent poll. Carried out by the Arab Barometer research network for BBC News Arabic, the survey polled the opinions of 25,000 youths across the Arab world on a wide variety of subjects. According to the results, President Erdoğan ranked first among world leaders who Arab youths regarded in a positive view.
Erdoğan came in first place in seven of the 11 surveyed countries, followed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump. Also of note was the fact that over half (51 percent) of those surveyed in 11 countries picked the Turkish president as their favorite leader, with Erdoğan garnering over 75 percent of the vote in countries such as Sudan, Jordan and Palestine. As for what Arab youths perceived as the biggest threat to their stability and national security, the majority answered by identifying Israel as the biggest danger, followed by the U.S. and Iran.
