FACT CHECK: DID SYRIAN SECURITY FORCES BEHEAD THE REMNANTS OF THE OVERTHROWN ASSAD REGIME?

A misleading video with the title ذبحوه الإخوان المسلمين (The Muslim Brotherhood slaughtered him) has resurfaced on social media, falsely claiming to show Syrian security forces beheaded a man, video also depict Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani of Qatar and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The video, viewed by 100.4K people and reposted nearly 700 times.

However, an investigation by Independent Press revealed that the video is actually an old footage from a temple in India. Independent Press understand that this fake video appears to be a malicious attempt to discredit Syrian security forces, Emir of Qatar and Turkish President Erdogan.

It’s worth noting that Syrian security forces have been conducting operations against remnants of the Assad regime in Latakia, but this video is unrelated to those events.
