◼️ Trump says US to boycott South Africa G20 summit: Trump calls it a ‘disgrace’ that South Africa is hosting the G20, reiterates debunked claims of a ‘genocide’ against white farmers. Since returning to the White House in January, Trump has repeatedly claimed that white South Africans are being persecuted in the Black-majority country, a claim rejected by South Africa’s government and top Afrikaner officials.

◼️ Warning to those who use WhatsApp video calls: “First of all, they typically focus on SIM swaps, which steal the actual number, and this is usually done through phishing attempts,” Molefe said. “Another way is through your linked accounts, because WhatsApp is connected to Instagram and Facebook, scammers can gather information like your birthday or family connections to make their impersonation more convincing.”

◼️ EMPD officers were accused of murder and hijacking: The trio were also accused of being involved in the murder of a man in Brakpan in April 2022 after police retrieved a body dumped in Nigel. The same three officers were accused of robbing a complainant in Meyerton in August 2022, with two of the officers later accused of hijacking a truck on the N12 and stealing its load.

◼️ R890,000 spent on petrol to drive the Police Minister, Deputy Ministers: He said in the current term of the seventh Parliament, the Department of Police spent R332,983 on fuel for the official transportation of Cabinet Ministers. The total expenditure on petrol and other fuels used for the official transportation of the Deputy Ministers of Police is R566,872. Maimane also inquired about the total number of vehicles deployed to transport ministers and deputy ministers.
