Tue 25 November 2025:
An Israeli channel reported on Monday evening that work on the train project linking Israel with the United Arab Emirates continued during the war in Gaza and has now reached an advanced stage of preparations.
According to i24, a delegation from Israel’s Ministry of Transport, led by the minister Miri Regev, travelled to Abu Dhabi in an unannounced visit over the weekend.
The report said the high-speed train is planned to support trade between Gulf states and Israel.

It added that the delegation visited Abu Dhabi to strengthen the regional cooperation needed between Saudi Arabia and Israel, noting that the project is expected to create a commercial route that would turn Israel into a key trade hub.
Under the reported plan, goods would leave Mundra Port in India by sea to the UAE, then continue by land through Saudi Arabia and Jordan before reaching Haifa, from where they could be transported onwards to Europe.
The channel said that trucks currently arriving from the UAE reach Haifa Port via the Allenby Bridge, where they face bureaucratic procedures.
Israel’s plan aims to allow trucks coming from the UAE to enter Israel with direct approval and without lengthy administrative procedures.
