MALAYSIAN POLICE ARRESTED 355 PEOPLE IN A CRACKDOWN ON A GROUP LINKED TO CHILD ABUSE

Malaysian police have arrested 355 individuals as part of a large-scale investigation into child abuse at care homes managed by the Islamic conglomerate Global Ikhwan Service and Business (GISB). The suspects were apprehended during an operation aimed at capturing the remaining members of GISB, which authorities suspect is tied to a banned Islamic sect.

Among those arrested was Nasiruddin Ali, the leader of GISB, along with 30 other members of the organization. Police Inspector-General Razarudin Husain revealed that authorities had raided 82 locations, including charity homes, clinics, religious schools, businesses, and private residences.

The raids resulted in the rescue of 186 victims, many of them minors. Razarudin added that the children in the care homes were believed to be the offspring of GISB members.

Earlier, police froze 96 bank accounts linked to GISB, holding approximately $124,000. The organization has long been under scrutiny for its association with the now-banned Al-Arqam sect, which was outlawed in 1994 for promoting deviant teachings.

In 2011, GISB stirred further controversy by establishing the “Obedient Wives Club,” which advocated that women should act as “whores in bed” to prevent their husbands from straying. Despite its contentious past, GISB claims on its website to operate businesses in several countries, including Indonesia, France, and the UK.
