In order to make users feel more connected to the people they care about, Meta has added additional sharing tools to Instagram, such as “Notes.”
According to a blog post published by Meta on Tuesday, “Notes” is a new feature that allows users to share their thoughts and see what their friends are up to.
Using only text and emojis, notes are brief posts that can be up to 60 characters long. Users have already begun to receive this feature.
Additionally, Meta is experimenting with brand-new Stories features like “Candid Stories” and “Add Yours nominations.”
Instagram is expanding its previously launched ‘Add Yours in Stories’ feature by introducing the ‘Add Yours nominations’ feature, which will allow users to invite friends to participate by tapping pass it on.
“We’re testing new features to give people more ways to collaborate and connect with friends in groups,” the company said.
With the new ‘Group Profiles’ feature, users will soon be able to create and join a new dedicated profile to share posts and stories with friends.
When users add content to a Group Profile, the content is posted on the Group Profile rather than the user’s own profile and is only visible to other members of the group.
Additionally, Meta is experimenting with a feature called “Collaborative Collections” feature that will allow users to connect with friends over their shared interests by saving posts to a collaborative collection in their group or 1:1 DMs
