Ida made landfall as a Category 4 hurricane in Louisiana on Sunday, but was downgraded to a tropical storm by Monday afternoon.
According to the announcement, a majority of oil and natural gas production stations on federal land in the US section of the Gulf of Mexico were still operating at a reduced capacity as of Monday afternoon. The refineries in Louisiana shut down, affecting 2.3 million barrels of oil per day, and they won’t be able to reopen until power is restored, according to the release.
According to the press release, Ida is now traveling across Tennessee with maximum sustained winds of 30 miles per hour. At least three persons have died as a result of hurricane-related incidents.
