According to a poll conducted by the Elabe firm for the BFMTV channel on Tuesday, French President Emmanuel Macron is likely to win re-election in April by 48 percent of respondents.
By 14 percent of those polled, Republican candidate Valerie Pecresse and far-right National Rally party leader Marine Le Pen are projected to win.
Eric Zemmour, a far-right presidential candidate and leader of the Reconquete party, is anticipated to win by 6% of respondents, while Jean-Luc Melenchon, a far-left presidential candidate and leader of the France Unbowed party, is expected to win by 5%.
The remaining contenders are not projected to win the election by more than 3% of voters.
The first round of the French presidential election will take place on April 10th, followed by the second round on April 24th. Macron has not yet made his candidacy official.
