Tue 22 November 2022:
Google has introduced new ways to shop in AR (Augmented Reality), such as a photo library to help users find their foundation shade and a way to see sneakers in their area.
The most popular makeup category is foundation. It’s also one of the most personal products you can buy, with a slight change in color or tone making a big difference, according to Google in a blog post.
Google’s new photo library, which was created with the help of beauty brands, includes 148 models of various skin tones, ages, genders, face shapes, ethnicities, and skin types.
To use this feature users will need to search for a foundation shade on Google across a range of prices and brands, like “Clinique Even Better Foundation”, according to the blogpost.
Users will then be able to see how that foundation looks on models with similar skin tones, including before and after shots, to help them decide which one is best for them.
Furthermore, the new feature allows users to test out products in 3D and AR.
Users can spin, zoom, and see the shoes in their environment to determine whether the color, laces, tread, or sole fit their style.
Users will need to search for a sneaker type, such as “Shop blue VANS sneakers,” and then tap “View in my space,” according to the blog post.
