Tue 31 May 2022:
Following the release of the Reactions feature, Meta-owned WhatsApp intends to improve the function even further with a few tweaks for iOS users.
Users can respond with up to six emojis in any conversation, audio, photo, or other media.
WhatsApp for iOS beta version 22.12.0.70 includes detailed Reactions information. According to 9To5Mac, this tweak is mostly about reacting to photos in an automatic album.
When users send a few photos in a chat, WhatsApp gathers them as an album. As of now, users of the stable version of the app will not know who reacted to each photo.
With this future update, users will be able to know which reaction is to each photo.
The messaging platform is also working on a Reactions 2.0 update that will allow users to react with any accessible emoji.
The feature is currently in development, much like an upgraded version of multi-device compatibility, but it will surely appear in a future release.
According to the report, when WhatsApp starts rolling out this upgraded Reactions function, it will seem identical to the one accessible on Instagram Direct Messages.
Users will only need to hit the “+” button after long-pressing a message, and then select the emoji they want to use.
