NOKIA T20 10.4″ TABLET UNVEILED IN WI-FI, 4G AND 15 HOURS OF BATTERY LIFE

The firm that makes Nokia phones presented its first tablet, the Nokia T20, on Wednesday, in a direct challenge to Apple’s iPad.

The tablet, which runs on Google’s Android operating system, has a 10.4-inch 2K display and a massive 8,200 milliamp-hour battery, according to HMD Global.

Around the front you’ll find the tablet’s 10.4-inch 1200 x 2000 display flanked by a 5-megapixel webcam that’s thankfully located on the long side of the display (better for calls when the tablet is in landscape).

Around back there’s an 8-megapixel camera if you’re the kind of person who likes to take photos with a tablet. It’s got a dust and water resistance rating of IP52, which means it should survive a light splash.

On a full charge, the company claims that the device would last up to 15 hours. HMD claims that the T20 can stream 10 hours of video on platforms like YouTube and Netflix for more power-hungry customers.

Google Kids Space, a “kids mode” setting that shows only safe content to children, and Family Link, a system that offers parental controls, are among the family-friendly features.

The Nokia T20 costs 199 euros in Europe and $249.99 in the United States. It comes in two versions: one that just supports Wi-Fi and another that supports 4G. The latter is a little more expensive, at 239 euros.

The company did not disclose information on release date and availability.
