OIL, GAS NEEDED RIGHT NOW, OFFERS SOLUTION FOR WINTER, ELON MUSK

Tesla’s owner Elon Musk said on Monday that oil and natural gas are still needed in the short term.

“Realistically I think we need to use oil and gas in the short-term, because otherwise civilisation will crumble,” Musk told reporters at a conference in Norway.

Musk also voiced concerns about the birth rates, and “that people should have enough babies to sustain the civilization.”

Asked if Norway should continue to drill for oil and gas, Musk said: “I think some additional exploration is warranted at this time.

“One of the biggest challenges the world has ever faced is the transition to sustainable energy and to a sustainable economy … that will take some decades to complete.”

Musk also said that the North Sea wind power, combined with the stationary battery packs, could be a very strong and sustainable energy source in the winter.

He also made comments about electric cars, saying that “I think by 2030 almost half of all cars made will be electric,” adding by 2035 %80 of new cars will be electric.
