QATAR REPORTS 1,526 NEW CORONAVIRUS CASES

Another 1,526 people have tested positive for the coronavirus in Qatar, bringing the total number of cases in Qatar to 25,149, ‏ Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) announced on Tuesday.

The ministry added that 179 more patients had recovered from the virus, bringing the total number of patients recovered to 3,019. One more death has also been confirmed in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 14 deaths so far.
Qatar’s interior ministry announced on Thursday that wearing masks will be mandatory to go outside starting Sunday, and those who do not comply will be fined up to 200,000 riyals ($53,000).

Violators could also be jailed up to three years, or either of those punishments, according to a statement on the ministry’s Twitter account.

The statement added that the only exception will be if the person is alone driving in a vehicle.
