Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath firmly stated that the day of ‘Qayamat’ (doomsday) will never arrive, ensuring the Babri Masjid structure will never be rebuilt.

Speaking at a religious event in Barabanki district, near Ayodhya, he addressed a gathering at the Ram Janaki Temple in Dulhadepur Kuti, honouring the late Mahant Baba Harishankar Das Maharaj.

Recalling the slogan “Ram Lalla, hum aayenge, mandir wahi banaayenge,” Adityanath highlighted the successful construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya after 500 years. “Has the temple been built? Is there any doubt?” he asked, prompting chants of “Jai Shri Ram” from the crowd. He asserted that those dreaming of rebuilding the Babri structure or awaiting doomsday will “rot away,” as that day will never come.

His remarks came amid tensions sparked by Janata Unnayan Party chief Humayun Kabir’s announcement two weeks earlier that a replica “Babri 2.0” would begin construction in West Bengal’s Murshidabad on February 11, prompting counter-calls from Hindutva groups.

Adityanath revisited the Supreme Court’s 2019 verdict, which cleared the way for the Ram Temple at the disputed site while allotting five acres elsewhere for a mosque. He questioned why no prior government—from independence in 1947 onward—had pursued building a temple at Lord Ram’s birthplace despite centuries of rule by various kings and administrations.

Targeting opposition parties, he labelled them “Ramdrohis” (traitors to Lord Ram) who adopt opportunistic attitudes, remembering Ram only in crises. “There is no place for Ramdrohis anywhere,” he said, warning those who obstructed Ram devotees or still harbour dreams of the old structure to abandon such illusions and live by India’s laws, or face ruin.

Emphasizing unity, he urged Indians to embrace a positive mindset for ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat’ and remain vigilant against attacks on Sanatan Dharma, India’s progress, and the vision of Viksit Bharat. He called for resisting conspiracies from within and outside, identifying three harmful mindsets: conspirators, their followers, and those who sell out.
