Tue 31 December 2024:
The Communications Department of the Turkish Presidential Administration has categorically denied Israeli media reports claiming President Recep Tayyip Erdogan contacted authorities in Tel Aviv to coordinate actions in Syria.
A statement said: “Relations between Turkiye and Israel are completely severed, and Ankara has not taken any steps to improve them.” It added that the reports are “unfounded”.
“Our President Recep Tayyip Erdogan cannot have contact with Israeli officials. Israeli media outlets have recently reported that Turkish security officials contacted their counterparts in the Israeli army and security forces. However, according to the statement ‘Some Turkish media outlets picked up on this, reporting that ‘Erdogan called Israel’.’ Thus, based on a baseless story, another fake news story emerged,” the Communications Department’s statement added.
