Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced the provision of 3 million dollars (Rs 24,74,71,050) support for the reconstruction of the Palestinian town of Huwara in the West Bank and those affected by the recent events, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan gave the UAE support, which was to be carried out by the Abu Dhabi Municipality and Transport Department in conjunction with the UAE-Palestinian Friendship Club.
This initiative comes “within the framework of the humanitarian efforts made by the UAE to support the brotherly Palestinian people.”

The action was taken in response to Israeli media claims that the UAE had stopped buying weapons from Israel due to the political unrest there.

By the Abraham Treaty, which was brokered by the United States, the UAE and Israel established diplomatic ties in the summer of 2020. (US).

Earlier, on February 26, 2023, Israelis attacked the Palestinian village of Huwara and committed acts of vandalism, burning, and property destruction in addition to the murder of a Palestinian. This was in response to two settlers being murdered by commandos in a shooting near the town.
