Mon 01 August 2022:
The scorching heat that has gripped the entire planet has had an impact on both people and animals. Now, a Tokyo-based clothing company called Sweet Mommy has developed a cutting-edge clothing option that might help family pets handle the stifling heat.
The apparatus is an 80-gram (3-ounce), battery-operated fan that is fastened to a mesh outfit and blows air all around an animal’s body.
Rei Uzawa, CEO of the maternity clothing company Sweet Mommy, claims that she was inspired to design it after observing how worn out her own chihuahua was after going for walks in the sweltering summer heat.

Reportedly, the device blows air, all around the animal’s body and comes in five different sizes. The reception has been fairly decent as well. Since its debut in July, the company has already received more than 100 orders. A single piece costs as much as $74.
“There was almost no rainy season this year, so the hot days came early, and in that sense, I think we developed a product that is right for the market,” she said.
After the rainy season in Tokyo ended in late June, the Japanese capital suffered the longest heatwave on record, with temperatures up to 35C (95 F) for nine days.
Dry-ice packs have been used by pet owners in Japan to keep their animals cool. However, it gets more difficult to keep it strapped on when pets roaming around frequently. Both pets and their owners should benefit from the device’s ergonomic design, according to Rei Uzawa and her business.
It is important to remember that Japan already experienced its hottest day ever in June when the temperature surpassed 35C. Since records have been kept in 1875, this was the highest temperature ever.
The temperature rise was unusual for June, which is considered a rainy season. However, as the hot weather continued, the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) was forced to declare the end of the rainy season in Tokyo and the surrounding areas.
The device debuted in early July and Sweet Mommy has received about 100 orders for the product, Uzawa said. It comes in five different sizes and is priced at 9,900 yen ($75).
