WhatsApp is said to be working on several improvements, and some of these were spotted in the code of the latest beta of Android. This includes a new catalog shortcut for business accounts allowing quick access to their product portfolio.
There is also a new “ Add WhatsApp Doodles ” option in development that allows users to make their solid wallpapers a little more stylish. In addition, a new “Call” button is also being worked on. This new call button aims to slightly change the process of creating video and voice calls in the app.
WABetaInfo, which tracks new features in WhatsApp, took a look at the latest beta of WhatsApp 2.20.200.3 for Android to spot several new features. The first is the possible addition of a quick shortcut in professional discussions, when the company has defined a catalog.
This catalog icon will be added next to the call button whenever it arrives. This new shortcut is under development and will not be visible even if users are using the latest beta.
Separately, WhatsApp is also working on a new call button that will combine video and voice call shortcuts into one. Currently we see separate icons in chats for video and voice calls, but this new button seems to combine the two, and when you press the button, it will let you choose the type of call. This new shortcut could change the call process a bit. It is under development and would be available in a future version.
The tracker indicates that this new call button will initially be available in professional chats, only WhatsApp will then be able to extend the functionality to other chats.
WhatsApp is also working on several wallpaper improvements as shown in the past, and one of the new improvements is the ability to add doodles on a solid cat wallpaper in Chats A new option ” Add WhatsApp Doddles ” was spotted in WhatsApp 2.20.200.3 beta for Android allowing users to overlay doodles in chat wallpapers. Again, this feature is not yet enabled for beta users and was only found in code.
