WHATSAPP UNVEILS NEW FEATURE FOR COMMUNITY MEMBERS

WhatsApp, a Meta-owned app, is reportedly working on a new feature allowing users to view all media shared in community group chats. According to WABetaInfo, this feature will provide an overview of all images, videos, and other media files shared within a community, making it easier for users to find and access content.

“This can help in maintaining their own community guidelines, ensuring that inappropriate content is identified and addressed promptly,” the report said.

This feature will benefit community members who are not very active in certain group chats by allowing them to access shared media, ensuring they stay informed and can catch up on important updates.

Currently under development, this feature will be available in a future app update. It aims to simplify the search process by providing a centralized location for browsing all shared media.

Additionally, WhatsApp is working on a feature for iOS that will prevent users from taking screenshots of profile pictures. Users will receive a notification about this update, which aims to enhance privacy on the app, according to WABetaInfo.

As cyber threats persist, safeguarding privacy and data has become crucial.

Fortunately, there are several different privacy settings available in the Meta-owned messaging app, such as the “Hide IP Address” feature, CCM.net reported.

Hackers often use espionage, which is breaking into people’s devices, to steal private data such as contact numbers, bank account information, passwords, and locations.

As a result, the app’s developer, Meta, regularly updates its app to safeguard user information.

The new “Hide IP Address” feature has been recently released for iOS and Android. This new feature hides your IP address to stop hackers from finding out your location.

How to activate the “Hide IP Address” feature?

Go to WhatsApp, open “Settings”, and click on the “Privacy settings” option. At the bottom of the privacy setting bar, there will be an “Advanced” setting option.

Activate the option to hide your IP address and any specific information from URLs.

In addition to this feature, you can also enable two-factor authentication to add an extra layer of security.

Regularly updating the app also helps secure your app and the data inside from hackers.
