BIDEN’S APPROVAL RATING PLUNGES TO 43% IN NEW POLL

Tue 24 May 2022:

As per a new poll published on Monday, President Joe Biden’s approval rating is at an all-time low of 43%.

In a NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ poll conducted in April, 47 percent of registered voters approved of the president’s job. Over 57 percent of Americans disapprove of Biden’s handling of his presidency, which is now in its second year. 40% stated they “strongly disapprove” of the president’s job performance.

The poll is the latest negative sign for Biden and Democrats as they prepare for November’s midterm elections, which will see one-third of the Senate and all 435 House seats up for grabs. An AP-NORC poll released last week showed Biden’s job support falling to 39%, mostly due to economic discontent.

Republicans are hoping to seize on the issue in six months when they seek to take control of the House and, potentially, the Senate.

Inflation continues to be the number one concern among registered voters, with 64.6% of respondents saying it is, according to The NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ. That is a jump of over 12% from April.

Crime is at 14.7 percent this month, COVID-19 is at 14.3 percent, and unemployment is at 6.4 percent. Biden was found to be in the most trouble among registered voters aged 55 and older, with 47 percent strongly disapproving of Biden’s handling of the presidency.
