All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi along with his party leaders met Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar and lodged a complaint against former Uttar Pradesh Shia Waqf Board chairman Waseem Rizvi over the “objectionable” contents against Prophet Mohammed in the latter’s book.

Acting on the complaint, An FIR has been registered against Rizvi in Hyderabad.
The AIMIM chief accused the ex-Uttar Pradesh Shia Waqf Board chief of making objectionable statements against Islam in his book.
“The book, written in Hindi, uses objectionable language against Islam and its followers,” Owaisi said in the complaint.
“The contents of the book and the objectionable statements have been made with a view to outrage the religious sentiments of those who follow Prophet Mohammed and abide by Islamic tenets,” he said.

Owaisi also alleged that Rizvi’s statements are targeted at creating a feeling of enmity against Muslims of India.
During his meeting with Hyderabad Police Commissioner, he urged the police to take action against Rizvi and his associates on the ‘charge of promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion and others and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony’.

“Following our complaint against Wasim Rizvi for creating hatred against Muslims & insulting Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), FIR has been registered and case has been entrusted to SI, Kamatipura PS. We hope that immediate action is taken,” Owaisi tweeted.
The AIMIM said Rizwi’s books and speeches are creating enmity against Muslims of India which is likely to result in a threat to the breach of peace.
