Sat 07 February 2026:

The world’s largest cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, lost around 25.1% during the last seven days and dropped 12.7% in the past 24 hours.

The price of the digital currency stood at $63,070 as of 2200GMT, according to CoinMarketCap data.

The currency wiped out all of the gains it made since US President Donald Trump’s election win and his taking office.

Trump was elected Nov. 5, 2024, and the pro-crypto president’s election led Bitcoin to rise from $68,000 to more than $100,000 by Dec. 17, 2024.

The digital asset hit a historical record high of $126,200 in October 2025.

Ethereum, the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency, fell 12.9% to $1,850.

The altcoin lost 34.5% over the last seven days.

Analysts said concerns about interest rates, uncertainties about the global economy, the liquidation of leveraged positions and profit-taking have prompted investors to shift from crypto markets.
