Tue 07 September 2021:
On Tuesday, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau lashed out at protestors who threw stones at him during a campaign trip, as well as those marching against public health measures.
During a campaign event in London, Ontario on Monday, Trudeau was bombarded with tiny stones, the latest incident in an increasingly tense national election season.
“It is absolutely unacceptable for people to be throwing things and endangering others at a political rally,” Trudeau said during a campaign stop in Montreal, noting that protesters’ actions put Liberal Party supporters, journalists and first responders at risk of injury.

Protesters who have been vocal in their opposition to public health measures aimed at combating the novel coronavirus disease, such as near-mandatory vaccination and the installation of vaccine passports across the country, which Trudeau supports, have received harsh words from the Prime Minister.
“That’s not how we do things in Canada,” Trudeau told supporters and members of the press, branding dissenters at his rallies and those impeding work at hospitals around the country “anti-vaxxer mobs.”
Since the August 15 election announcement, Trudeau has been surrounded by outspoken, and often noisy, protestors at several of his campaign visits, and was forced to cancel an event in Bolton, Ontario last month to avoid a large crowd of protesters throwing obscenities at the Prime Minister and the ruling Liberals.
Protesters have also poured on hospitals in recent weeks, reportedly accosting healthcare professionals in protest of existing and prospective public health initiatives.
