Tue 07 September 2021:

White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki briefed reporters that US President Joe Biden will address the nation on his administration’s plan to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus Delta strain and improve vaccination efforts in the United States.

“On Thursday the President will speak to the American people about his robust plan to stop the spread of the Delta variant and boost vaccinations,” Psaki said during a press briefing on Tuesday.

Biden has committed to take all possible steps to bring the coronavirus pandemic under control since his first day in office, according to Psaki, and he will set out a six-pronged approach to do so on Thursday.

Regarding a possible schedule for implementing booster shots, Psaki said that the Biden administration will make decisions based on FDA and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations (CDC).

According to media reports, FDA Acting Administrator Janet Woodcock and CDC Director Rochelle Walensky cautioned that their agencies would need at least several weeks to decide whether to recommend booster shots just for those who had the Pfizer vaccine and only for a small number of people.
