Goat with Allah written on it goes on sale for Rs 8 lakh ahead of Bakr-Eid

Owner of the goat Mohammad Nizamuddin said, “We spend Rs 800 on it [goat] daily, much more than we spend on us. It weighs 95 kg.”

Ahead of Bakr-Id (Eid al-Adha), a goat named Salman has gone on sale in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Salman is going on sale and the price at which it will be sold is not a small sum of money. Owner of the goat Mohammad Nizamuddin has quoted the price of Rs 8 lakh for the goat.

Owner of the goat said that “there is Allah written on its body”.

The “festival of sacrifice” commemorates the willingness of the messenger in Islam — Ibrahim — to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God’s command.

Traditionally, the festival of Eid al-Adha is celebrated two days after the beginning of the Hajj pilgrimage. The starting date of this festival depends on the sighting of the new crescent moon. It begins on the 10th day of one of the holiest months of the Islam calendar.
