◼️ No more ‘Ja Baas’: “AfriForum must be called out for what it is, a racist organisation that has made a political project of attacking the ANC and resisting transformation,” ANC National Spokesperson, Bhengu said. “It peddles lies to deepen division, then wraps its campaigns in the language of justice. Justice that they had actively denied to black people under apartheid for years.” Bhengu said that the attack on the ANC’s Secretary General belongs to that same political playbook. AfriForum longs for a country where black people are expected to bow their heads and answer, ‘Ja baas’. That country is gone, and the ANC will never allow it to return.”

◼️ We can’t be a country where people just pick up guns and start shooting at random: Speaking to the media in Ekurhuleni on Sunday, Ramaphosa noted that violence and criminality continue to spread. “This is the level of criminality that we must bring down, and our security forces are now going to continue pulling out all stops. “It cannot go on like this, and the clear instruction to our security forces is that we must bring the levels of criminality and violence down.

◼️ SA has a SIM card problem: South Africa has a significant plastic SIM card problem, with mobile network operators issuing as many as 200 million SIM cards a year in a country with only around 25 million economically active people. This indicates a high level of churn and waste, and these plastic SIM cards ultimately end up in landfills, contributing significantly to pollution. Telkom recently told MyBroadband it supported a move away from physical cards, but this must be customer-driven.
