He maintains his view that Trump traffics in the politics of supremacy and white victimhood: “Deportation of black and brown from the USA and an importation of white refugees from South Africa — I mean, it can’t be stronger than that.” For Rasool, South Africa has a particular place in the American political imagination.

◼️ Top cop Sibiya back in court on rape, sexual grooming and trafficking charges: The 59-year-old faces five charges, including rape, trafficking and person and sexual grooming of a child. According to the charge sheet, Sibiya took a woman and her friends to a strip club and a hotel in Sandton in May 2026. He allegedly drugged them with liquor and raped the 18-year-old victim while she was unconscious.
