Vivek Oberoi has stepped into the shoes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his biopic, titled PM Narendra Modi. The trailer of the Omung Kumar-directed film was just released.

ivek Oberoi stars as Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the biopic of the latter, titled PM Narendra Modi. The trailer of the biopic, directed by Omung Kumar, was released today and it shows Vivek Oberoi struggling to play the Indian Prime Minister. Oberoi, who changed his screen name to Vivek Anand Oberoi right before the biopic was announced, tries hard to play Modi, but with little success.

The actor was dressed as PM Modi as he entered the venue for the trailer launch of the biopic on Wednesday. At the trailer launch, director Omung Kumar said, “Modiji’s struggle is an incredible true story.”

Vivek Oberoi tweeted on Wednesday morning that the trailer of PM Narendra Modi biopic was to be released at 3pm. However, the actor seemed to have got the time wrong. After keeping Modi’s fans and followers waiting for several hours, Vivek finally tweeted out the trailer of his upcoming film at 4am on March 21.

Oberoi tries an impression of Modi in scenes throughout the trailer. The 2-minute-20-second trailer has the Company actor shouting “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Chetavni deta hoon main Pakistan ko. Agar dobara hum par haath uthaya, toh haath kaat doonga.” Filmmaker Omung Kumar seems to have encapsulated the most important bits of PM Narendra Modi’s journey in his film. In the trailer, we also get glimpses of Manoj Joshi as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah and Prashant Narayanan as an evil journalist who wants ‘The End of Narendra Modi’ on his TV show, sneer included.

From the word go, the trailer of PM Narendra Modi biopic looks like what we already know about the Prime Minister’s already much-in-the-open life. Vivek Oberoi does a poor impression of PM Modi in the trailer. He tries to get Modi’s mannerisms in place, but tries is all he does. For a man like Modi, who we see on our TV sets almost every day, Oberoi comes across as a mighty weak impression of the Indian Prime Minister.
