Fri 09 December 2022:

According to Yani Ajat Hermawan, a spokesperson of the Aviation Union, more than 40 private planes are anticipated to fly to Indonesia for the wedding of the president’s son, Kaesang Pangarep, but air communication is expected to stay smooth.

Indonesian social media buzzed with excitement on Friday as President Joko Widodo’s youngest son, Kaesang Pangarep, tied the knot with fiancée Erina Gudono.

According to the official, his agency have registered around 45 jets that are scheduled to arrive on Sunday, the day of the wedding ceremony.

“Yes, we have really prepared dozens of parking lots for jets of distinguished guests. But it doesn’t mean that the wedding of the president’s son will affect regular flights,” the Aviation Union manager said, as quoted by the Kompas newspaper.

He added that guests’ Names were unknown since they had only provided the identification numbers of their jets.

Kaesang Pangarep is the youngest son of Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo. He will get married this Sunday in the region of Boyolali in the eastern part of Central Java.

The 27-year-old Kaesang is a self-described “amateur YouTuber” and an entrepreneur, running a number of businesses including a food franchise called Sang Pisang.

Fiancée Erina, 25, works as a financial analyst at investment bank JP Morgan’s Jakarta offices. She also represented the city of Yogyakarta in the 2022 Puteri Indonesia national beauty pageant, finishing in the final 11 contestants.

Joko Widodo was sworn in for a second term in October 2019. Shortly after taking oath, the President said his final term would be aimed at eradicating poverty and catapulting the nation of some 260 million into a developed country with one of the world’s top five economies by 2045.

Jokowi, a popular, heavy metal-loving former businessman from outside the political and military elite, was hailed as Indonesia’s answer to Barack Obama when he was first elected in 2014, partly on a roads-to-airports infrastructure drive.

But his leadership has been under mounting criticism after a wave of crises that threaten to cast a shadow over his final term.
