Superman fell in love with a reporter, and now his son is doing the same, only this time it’s a man named Jay who is the superhero’s love interest.
The new Superman, who is the son of Clark Kent and Lois Lane, will have a romantic relationship with a male buddy, according to DC Comics.
In an August story, Jon Kent and aspiring journalist Jay Nakamura formed a friendship. In a piece that will be published next month, they will have a kiss.
“Following a scene where Superman mentally and physically burns out from trying to save everyone that he can, Jay is there to care for the Man of Steel,” DC comics said in a statement.
The storyline line will feature in “Son of Kal-El” issue five, due to hit shelves on November 9.
DC Comics described the new Superman as “bisexual” in its press release, which is headlined “Jon Kent finds his identity.”
“Today, more people can see themselves in the most powerful superhero in comics,” said Tom Taylor, who writes the series.
The coming out of America’s most famous superhero comes as more comic books embrace diversity.
“Aquaman” introduced a Black, gay superhero earlier this summer, while the latest Robin in the Batman comics came out as bisexual in August.
“That Jesus Christ was bisexual”
A lengthy opinion essay published in June, was presented by Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov in which he claimed, that schools in several Western countries routinely teach children “that Jesus Christ was bisexual.”
“In a number of Western countries, students learn at school that Jesus Christ was bisexual,” Lavrov wrote in an essay published in the Kommersant business daily.
Lavorv had been referring to a Christian news website’s article on a Scottish teachers’ union play, performed for schoolchildren to celebrate Pride month, that portrayed Jesus as a transgender woman.
Sergey Lavrov wrote, “Apart from encroaching on international law, the “rules” concept also manifests itself in attempts to encroach on the very human nature. In a number of Western countries, students learn at school that Jesus Christ was bisexual.”
“Attempts by reasonable politicians to shield the younger generation from aggressive LGBT propaganda are met with bellicose protests from the “enlightened Europe.” All world religions, the genetic code of the planet’s key civilisations, are under attack. The United States is at the forefront of state interference in church affairs, openly seeking to drive a wedge into the Orthodox world, whose values are viewed as a powerful spiritual obstacle for the liberal concept of boundless permissiveness,” he added.
Earlier this year U.S. and EU leaders have criticized Hungary for passing a similar law, which bans the portrayal of LGBTQ+ characters in textbooks, advertising, and even television shows likely to be seen by children.
