Several photographs and videos of strange and alien-like creatures captured by Russian fisherman recently have gone viral on social media.

Roman Fedortsov, 39, from Russia, works on commercial trawlers. He usually catches cod, haddock and mackerel but there are times when he comes across unusual-looking creatures.

Fedortsov sometimes fishes up 3,300 feet below the surface to catch fish and ends up reeling some bizarre deep-sea creatures such as one-eyed fish, ghost sharks, bearded sea devils and anglerfish.

There is minimal light at these depths.

The fisherman also goes till 3,300 feet below the surface to catch fish sometimes. The light is minimal at these depths.

Although he usually finds haddock, cod and mackerel, at times some unusual-looking creatures also find way to his net.

Fedortsov has found several bizarre deep-sea creatures, such as one-eyed fish, bearded sea devils, ghost sharks and anglerfish.

Fedortsov usually fishes in Barents Sea, which is a marginal sea of the Arctic Ocean. It is located off the northern coasts of Russia.

He also likes to capture them on camera and shares it with the world. “All kinds of fish are beautiful in their own way. I cannot say that they are ‘scary’ or ‘ugly’. People are very interested in unusual sea creatures,” Fedortsov was quoted as saying by Daily Star.

The fisherman added some fish look more like monsters than they actually are.

“Readers have the impression that with each trawl we bring aboard unusual fish specimens In fact, this is far from the case. It is a rarity,” Fedortsov said.

He continued, “On the other hand, even a famous fish can be photographed so that it will seem to be a ‘monster’.”

He added that most of the raised fish do not survive due to the difference in pressure.
