Al-Attiyah’s visit coincides with similar visits by Turkish defense minister, German foreign minister
TRIPOLI, Libya – Qatar’s Defense Minister, Khalid bin Mohammad Al-Attiyah, arrived in Tripoli on Monday for talks with Libyan officials.
Al-Attiyah was welcomed at Tripoli’s Mitiga airport by Libyan Deputy Defense Minister Salah Al-Namroush.
Upon his arrival, the Qatari minister visited the headquarters of the Consultative Leadership for Security, Defense and Training Cooperation, which was established as part of last year’s military cooperation pact between Libya and Turkey.
Al-Attiyah’s visit to Tripoli coincides with similar visits by Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar and German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas to the Libyan capital.
