According to the Saudi Press Agency, the Riyadh Season festival in Saudi Arabia’s capital city has been awarded another Guinness World Record title.

The most simultaneous holograms, often known as pepper’s ghost illusions, was granted the most recent record.

The records include a whopping 100 songs recorded using hologram technology. Then the festival set a Guinness World Record by displaying the largest model of a Formula 1 car using half a million Lego cubes at the Riyadh Motor Show.

It was originally built in Jeddah to coincide with the Formula One event in the city in September and was constructed out of 500,000 Lego pieces over the span of a week.

The final piece was laid by Prince Khalid bin Sultan al-Abdullah al-Faisal in a ceremony at the Red Sea Mall.

The Giant Slide in Boulevard Riyadh City has set two records in the world: one as the longest in the world, and two as the owner of the highest number of tracks of its kind in the field of games.

Representatives from Guinness World Records were kept on a live broadcast throughout the construction process for them to verify and officially certify the record.

Riyadh Season is part of the countrywide Saudi Seasons festival initiative, which includes Sharqiyah Season in March and Jeddah Season in June. Riyadh Season launched in 2019, and is the biggest festival of its kind in the Middle East.

After skipping an edition in 2020 (no prizes for guessing why) Riyadh Season returned in 2021 for the second time. The festival covers an impressive 5.4 million square metres and 14 districts, plus, there are dedicated zones with their own distinct themes and activities.
