SAUDI ARABIA STEPS UP SANITATION AT GRAND MOSQUE

According to the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Saudi Arabia’s General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has began disinfection and sanitation works in Mecca’s Grand Mosque.

At the Grand Mosque, strict COVID-19 preventative measures have been implemented, with a focus on sterilization and disinfection procedures.

According to SPA, the activities are underway “so that the pilgrims of the Grand Mosque can experience the best and finest services” while performing their daily rituals of Maghrib, Isha, and Fajr prayers.

According to the official press agency, the presidency’s preparations assure that the mosque is ready to host 100,000 pilgrims and 60,000 worshipers.

The Grand Mosque in Mecca has undergone a re-furnishing of its carpets in general sites, amounting to approximately 3000 new carpets, SPA reported.
